The present invention relates to a hybrid faucet assembly configured to operate in a contactless, hand-free automatic mode and a manual mode, comprising: a faucet body; a faucet spout; the first manual flow control valve is connected to a cold water source; a second manual flow control valve connected to the hot water source; an electromechanical valve connected to the cold water source or to both the cold water source and the hot water source; a controller; and an activator device. The mixing faucet assembly may include an override mechanism to disable the automatic mode during operation of the manual mode.
