The invention discloses a heavy traffic road maintenance method which comprises the following steps: (1) foundation treatment: making a composite foundation, making cement stabilized macadam concrete on the lower layer, and making a plain concrete layer on the upper layer; (2) arranging a ground beam: enabling a pavement expansion joint to be telescopically deformed on the ground beam; (3) pavement construction: the pavement is made into a continuous reinforced concrete integral structure; through hardening treatment of foundation treatment, the bearing capacity of the foundation is enhanced, the whole pavement is stressed, the enough bearing capacity meets the heavy traffic requirement, the expansion joints are arranged, the pavement structure freely deforms, and the problem of road damage under heavy traffic is solved.
