The invention relates to a sectional type swinging bridge pier, and belongs to the technical field of civil engineering earthquake resistance. Comprising a bent cap, an upper section, an upper energy dissipation area, a lower section, a lower energy dissipation area, prestressed steel bars, energy dissipation steel bars, PVC reserved hole channels, an upper protective cover and a lower protective cover. The components are sequentially connected from top to bottom, and a swing interface is formed between the upper energy consumption area and the lower energy consumption area. The centers of the components are provided with PVC reserved hole channels which are vertically through, and the components are connected in series and anchored together through prestressed steel bars in the PVC reserved hole channels. The upper energy consumption area and the lower energy consumption area are both larger than the upper section and the lower section, and PVC reserved hole channels penetrating through the upper energy consumption area and the lower energy consumption area are formed in the portions, larger than the upper section and the lower section, of the upper energy consumption area and the lower energy consumption area in a surrounding mode. Energy dissipation steel bars penetrate through the PVC reserved hole channels; the upper surface of the upper energy consumption area and the lower surface of the lower energy consumption area are each provided with an upper protective cover and a lower protective cover.
