The invention provides a remote control traction device special for a vertical rod for electric power safety operation. Comprising a shell, a wire spool, a self-locking motor, a power source, a remote control assembly and a plurality of traction ropes, a cavity is formed in the shell, the wire spool is supported in the cavity of the shell, and the traction ropes are wound on the wire spool; a receiver of the remote control assembly is used for receiving wireless signals sent by the emitter, and a control circuit is used for processing the signals received by the receiver and controlling a motor to start, stop, rotate forwards and rotate backwards; the power supply supplies power to the self-locking motor and the remote control assembly. The invention further provides an electric pole adding method for electric power safety operation. The electric pole adding method comprises the following steps that an electric pole is added; digging holes; placing a chassis in place; assembling a cross arm; a vertical rod; and installing the chuck. According to the electric pole adding method for electric power safety operation, pole erecting operation can be rapidly completed through the traction device, and different working environments and working requirements can be met. Due to high operability and flexibility, the efficiency and quality of electric power safety operation can be improved.
