The invention relates to a valve upper part (1) for a sanitary fitting (2), at least comprising:-a housing (3),-a valve stem (4), which is arranged at least partially in the housing (3) and can be rotated relative to the housing (3) about an axis of rotation (5),-a sealing device (6) for at least partially closing a valve seat (7) of the sanitary fitting (2), the sealing device (6) is displaceable by the valve stem (4) parallel to the axis of rotation (5) between an open position and a closed position, the sealing device (6) having a first sealing element (8) made of a first material and a second sealing element (9) made of a second material, and wherein a first hardness of the first material is less than a second hardness of the second material. The invention further relates to a sanitary fitting (2) having such a valve upper part (1).
