The invention discloses a battery pack thermal insulation material, which is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by mass: 3 to 7 parts of vermiculite, 2 to 8 parts of perlite, 2 to 6 parts of aerogel precursor, 0.5 to 1 part of composite anticorrosive agent and 1.5 to 2 parts of composite flexibilizer, and the ratio of the vermiculite to the perlite to the aerogel precursor to the composite anticorrosive agent to the composite flexibilizer is (3 to 7): (2 to 8): (2 to 6): (0.5 to 1): (1.5 to 2); the composite anticorrosive agent comprises silane coupling agent modified aluminum silicate ceramic fibers and halogenated polyethylene; the composite flexibilizer comprises dialkyl dimethyl quaternary ammonium salt, polyethyleneimine and a polysiloxane-polyether copolymer. The battery pack thermal insulation material obtained by the method has the characteristics of low thermal conductivity and high temperature resistance, the product application range is wide, the production process is simple, and the thermal insulation performance is excellent.
