Universal base for door handle assembly
A door handle assembly includes a base, first and second trim panels, and a latch assembly. The base includes an inner base portion and an outer base portion. The interior base portion is configured to extend from a first side of the door and includes at least one decorative engagement mechanism. The outer base portion is configured to extend from the second side of the door and includes at least one decorative engagement mechanism. The first trim panel is configured to removably engage the first trim engagement mechanism optionally via a trim panel adapter. The second trim panel is configured to also optionally removably engage the second trim engagement mechanism through a trim panel adapter. A latch assembly extends between the outer base portion and the inner base portion. The first trim engagement mechanism and the second trim engagement mechanism are removably engageable with the interchangeable trim panel.

A door handle assembly includes a base, first and second trim panels, and a latch assembly. The base includes an inner base portion and an outer base portion. The interior base portion is configured to extend from a first side of the door and includes at least one decorative engagement mechanism. The outer base portion is configured to extend from the second side of the door and includes at least one decorative engagement mechanism. The first trim panel is configured to removably engage the first trim engagement mechanism optionally via a trim panel adapter. The second trim panel is configured to also optionally removably engage the second trim engagement mechanism through a trim panel adapter. A latch assembly extends between the outer base portion and the inner base portion. The first trim engagement mechanism and the second trim engagement mechanism are removably engageable with the interchangeable trim panel.
