The invention provides an installation method of a blasting vibration monitoring sensor for a high and steep slope of an open stope. The installation method comprises the following steps: determining position coordinates of a blasting center; determining a monitoring direction line of blasting vibration based on the position coordinates of the blasting center in combination with known slope stability data and on-site slope platform data; based on the monitoring direction line, determining a monitoring point position coordinate for installing a monitoring sensor; determining a directional reference point on the basis of taking any point of the full view position of the side slope as a known point and a monitoring direction line; a total station is erected on the known point, a prism is placed on the orientation datum point, angle orientation is conducted on the total station, and setting of the total station is completed; determining a direction angle alpha 0 of a blasting vibration monitoring direction line based on plane coordinates of the blasting center, the known point and the directional datum point or based on a prism; determining a blasting center direction based on a direction angle alpha 0 of a blasting vibration monitoring direction line and an included angle beta 0 between the direction angle alpha 0 and the monitoring point in the horizontal projection direction; and the monitoring sensor is installed based on the explosion center direction.
