The invention relates to a road surface layer evaluation index, in particular to a road asphalt surface layer crack evaluation method based on a nondestructive testing technology. The method comprises the following steps: determining the size of a detected road section, and establishing various crack sizes through detection: calculating to obtain an upper surface layer crack condition index, a middle surface layer crack condition index, a lower surface layer crack condition index and an asphalt surface layer overall crack condition index in the detected road section, and evaluating the indexes according to a road asphalt surface layer crack grading evaluation table. Based on a pavement nondestructive testing technology, the problem that existing evaluation indexes only evaluate the pavement form of open cracks is solved, the influence of all types of cracks of the pavement on the pavement service performance is comprehensively considered, the crack condition indexes of the upper surface layer, the middle surface layer and the lower surface layer are calculated respectively, and the overall crack condition index is calculated; the indexes are more representative, and the pertinence and scientificity of formulation of maintenance and repair measures are improved.
