The embodiment of the invention provides a bridge section transverse unfolding and folding mechanism which comprises a middle box oil cylinder, a side box oil cylinder, a connecting lug plate, a first lug plate pin, a second lug plate pin, a third lug plate pin and a bottom plug pin. The cylinder end of the middle box oil cylinder is connected with the bottom of a bridge section middle box through the bottom plug pin, and the rod end of the middle box oil cylinder is connected with the lower portion of the connecting lug plate through the second lug plate pin. The cylinder end of the side box oil cylinder is connected with a bridge section side box structure through the bottom plug pin, and the rod end of the side box oil cylinder is connected with the lower portion of the connecting lug plate through the third lug plate pin. One end of the upper portion of the connecting lug plate is connected with a double-lug base transversely arranged on the upper portion of the bridge section middle box through the first lug plate pin, and the other end of the upper portion of the connecting lug plate is connected with a double-lug base transversely arranged on the upper portion of the bridge section side box through the first lug plate pin. According to the technical scheme, unfolding and folding between the bridge section side box and the bridge section middle box can be rapidly achieved.
