The invention provides a slope type geotechnical cloth laying and pressing protection method which comprises the following steps: preprocessing geotechnical cloth: tying the edge of one side of each piece of geotechnical cloth with a pipe, and winding the geotechnical cloth on the pipe after tying; geotextile is laid, specifically, the geotextile with the preset width is reserved on the embankment top, and a heavy object is pressed on the geotextile with the preset width; the pipe drives the geotechnical cloth to slowly roll into water along the slope surface, the geotechnical cloth is completely unfolded through manual cooperation, the geotechnical cloth is flatly laid on the slope surface, and it is guaranteed that the surface is free of wrinkles; pressing and protecting the geotechnical cloth: pressing a heavy object on the geotechnical cloth on the mud surface; the construction of the pair of geotechnical cloth is completed; the steps are repeated, multiple pieces of geotechnical cloth are transversely laid along the slope surface, every two adjacent pieces of geotechnical cloth are in lap joint, and lap joint areas are pressed and protected through heavy objects; and the area, from the slope toe to the slope shoulder, of the geotechnical cloth is pressed and protected through a pressing and protecting material.
