The invention discloses a silicon oxide ceramic core and a preparation method thereof.The preparation method of the silicon oxide ceramic core comprises the following steps that ceramic slurry is prepared, the ceramic slurry comprises ceramic particles, and the ceramic particles comprise silicon oxide and silicon nitride; based on the ceramic slurry, preparing a ceramic matrix blank through photocuring 3D printing; pre-sintering the ceramic matrix green body to obtain a ceramic matrix; preparing an auxiliary agent solution, dipping the auxiliary agent solution into the ceramic matrix, and then carrying out a heating reaction; then sintering to obtain a silicon oxide ceramic core; the problem that in the process of preparing the silicon oxide ceramic core from silicon oxide ceramic in a photocuring 3D printing mode, the relative refractive index of ceramic slurry is low, and consequently the scattering phenomenon is likely to happen is solved, and therefore reduction of the forming precision is avoided; and meanwhile, the problem that the surface of a casting piece is not smooth due to high pores when the ceramic core is cast is solved.
