The invention provides an external prestressing reinforcing method for a long-span bridge, and belongs to the technical field of methods for maintaining or reinforcing existing bridges. A bridge body serves as a processing object, an anchoring block is arranged at a middle cross beam of the bridge, a steering block is arranged at the bending moment changing position of the bridge body, then an external prestressed steel beam is pulled out from the anchoring block in the span direction, the external prestressed steel beam penetrates through the steering block, the tail end of the external prestressed steel beam is fixed to the bridge beam end, and the external prestressed steel beam is tensioned to the designed tensioning force. When the scheme is used for reinforcing the bridge, the usability and the durability of the bridge body structure can be improved, and the down-warping damage and the flexural capacity of the bridge body can be properly improved.
