The device comprises a mounting body; the ratchet wheel assembly comprises a ratchet wheel shaft connected to the mounting body and a ratchet wheel connected to the ratchet wheel shaft, and the ratchet wheel comprises a braking part and a limiting part which are arranged along the circumferential end of the ratchet wheel; the pawl assembly comprises a pawl shaft and a pawl, the pawl shaft is rotationally connected to the mounting body and located beside the ratchet shaft, the pawl is connected to the pawl shaft, and the pawl comprises a contact part and an abutting part; the elastic element is arranged between the pawl shaft and the pawl; the ratchet wheel rotates in the first direction along with falling of the roller shutter door, when the rotating speed of the ratchet wheel reaches the preset speed, the braking part can drive the pawl to rotate in the second direction, the abutting part makes contact with the limiting part so as to limit rotation of the ratchet wheel, and the first direction and the second direction are clockwise or anticlockwise respectively and are opposite. And the switch element is used for enabling the device to be in a working or non-working state. The device can effectively prevent the roller shutter door from falling, and can quickly respond and lock the door body when the roller shutter door quickly slides down.
