The invention relates to a method for producing cement clinker, comprising the following method steps: preheating a lime-containing and silicate-containing raw material in a preheater, deacidifying the preheated raw material in a calcinator, sintering the deacidified raw material in a rotary furnace, and sintering the sintered raw material in the rotary furnace. According to the invention, the raw material sintered into cement clinker is quenched in a cooler, and the preheated raw material is fed into the foot of the calciner, where the raw material is suspended in an upflow of exhaust gas from the rotary furnace flowing into the calciner. According to the invention, carbide slag is fed into the foot of the calciner (115) as a raw material substitute.
