The invention relates to a method for automatically controlling a motorized window in a motor vehicle, said method comprising: (i) ascertaining, using a sensor arranged on the motor vehicle, whether a physical object is present in an intermediate space between a window pane and a window frame of the window during a driven movement process of the window; the window glass is made to move in a window frame where the window belongs in the moving process; (ii) the sensor is based on the principle of wireless measurement such that wireless signals, in particular electromagnetic or acoustic signals, characterizing are detected by the sensor when the presence or absence of the object in the intermediate space is ascertained; and (iii) controlling a movement process, in particular an opening or closing process, of the window depending on the ascertained presence or absence of the object in the intermediate space.
