The invention provides a protection structure and method for preventing and treating river channel concave bank erosion, and the protection structure comprises a fixed supporting frame extending in the left-right direction, the fixed supporting frame is of a door-shaped structure, and the fixed supporting frame is arranged on the river bank close to the concave bank side; a sliding block capable of sliding left and right along the fixed supporting frame is arranged on the fixed supporting frame, a translation mechanism is arranged on the fixed supporting frame and used for enabling the sliding block to slide in the length direction of the fixed supporting frame, and a hoisting mechanism is fixedly arranged on the side, away from the fixed supporting frame, of the sliding block; an arc-shaped block is arranged at the bottom of the mounting plate and is of an arc-shaped structure protruding downwards. Through the arrangement of the hydraulic swing power mechanism, when the river channel is small, the mounting plate can be lowered to the bottom of a riverbed so that concave bank protection can be conducted on the river, and when the river channel is large, the mounting plate can be lifted so that the protection plate and the buffer component can reinforce protection on the concave bank and can prevent the river from eroding the concave bank.
