The invention discloses an engineering field investigation recorder, which relates to the technical field of engineering investigation and comprises a rectangular base and a guide frame fixedly mounted in the middle of the upper surface of the base, guide wheels are rotatably mounted on two sides in a cavity, and fixing components are mounted at four corners of the rectangular base. A tensioning assembly connected with the transmission assembly is arranged on the other side of the guide groove, and a reading and recording assembly is arranged on the transmission assembly. The sounding rod can be supported on the ground to be surveyed in the vertical direction, workers do not need to hold the sounding rod with hands all the time in the surveying experiment process, and the workers can easily obtain the downward insertion amount of the sounding rod; meanwhile, a worker can easily obtain the total downward insertion amount of the sounding rod, the downward insertion amount of each time and the number of hammering times, additional measurement is not needed, exploration work is facilitated, measurement errors caused by manual measurement can be effectively avoided, and therefore the accuracy of exploration data is further guaranteed.
