The preparation method provided by the invention comprises the following steps: step 1, mixing oil sludge dry residues and pickling sludge, and then carrying out high-temperature pretreatment to obtain a mixture; 2, crushing the mixture obtained in the step 1, and granulating; 3, green pellets obtained after granulation in the step 2 are sintered, and a sintered body is obtained; and step 4, quenching the sintered body prepared in the step 3 to 60 DEG C or below to prepare the ceramsite proppant. The invention provides a preparation method of a ceramsite proppant, which is characterized in that oily sludge dry residue is used as a main raw material, acid pickling sludge is used as an auxiliary material, and the high-quality ceramsite fracturing proppant with the particle size of 70-140 meshes and the strength of 86 MPa is prepared; and the oily sludge dry residues and the pickling sludge belong to solid wastes, so that high-added-value utilization of the wastes is realized, chromium in the pickling sludge is prevented from being released into the environment, harmless use of the pickling sludge is realized, and the method is green and environment-friendly.
