The invention relates to the technical field of winch type hoists, and provides a winch type hoist which comprises a bottom plate, a strip-shaped frame groove is formed in the left side of the top of the bottom plate, an outer plate is fixedly installed on the rear side of an inner cavity of the strip-shaped frame groove, an inner plate is movably installed in an inner cavity of the outer plate, a torsion shaft is rotatably installed at the top of the inner plate, and a cover plate is rotatably installed at the top of the torsion shaft; according to the winch type hoist, through cooperative use of a first telescopic plate structure and a first rubber sleeve structure, when the winch type hoist works, a first telescopic plate and a second telescopic plate are utilized, so that a steel cable and a connecting shaft can quickly move up and down in a first strip-shaped groove and a second strip-shaped groove; due to the fact that rubber materials of the first rubber sleeve and the second rubber sleeve have the soft characteristic, the first rubber sleeve and the second rubber sleeve effectively block gaps between the steel cable and the inner cavity of the first strip-shaped groove and gaps between the connecting shaft and the inner cavity of the second strip-shaped groove, and the effect that the surface of the winding drum is effectively covered without affecting normal work of the winding drum is achieved.
