The invention discloses a GCL waterproof blanket bentonite pad and a preparation method thereof, and relates to the field of soil engineering waterproofing. The pad comprises a non-woven fabric layer which is formed by weaving non-woven fabrics; the bentonite layer is formed by adhering bentonite to the surface of the non-woven fabric layer through an adhesive; the impermeable film layer is formed by adhering an impermeable film to the surface of the bentonite layer through an adhesive; the seepage-resistant layer is formed by covering the surface of the seepage-resistant film layer with a seepage-resistant material, the seepage-resistant layer is a high-density polyethylene film or a polyvinyl chloride film, and the method comprises the steps that bentonite and water are mixed, slurry is formed, non-woven fabric is laid on a workbench, the non-woven fabric is coated with the slurry, and then drying is conducted. The bentonite and the non-woven fabric serve as matrixes, the anti-aging performance is good, the anti-seepage layer and the seepage-resistant layer are additionally arranged on the basis, the seepage-resistant and anti-seepage performance of the structure is improved, compounding is conducted in a bonding and hot pressing mode, and the process is simple.
