REFRACTORY MEMBER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
[Problem] To provide a refractory member having excellent corrosion resistance and excellent adhesion of a carbide coating film provided on the surface of a graphite base material. [Means] A refractory member provided with a graphitic base and a carbide layer provided so as to cover at least a part of the surface of the graphitic base, the graphitic base having a graphitic phase and pores, and the carbide layer having a composite region, the composite region includes, in a cross-sectional view along the thickness direction of the carbide layer, an alternating region in which a graphitic phase that is continuous at least 50 [mu] m and a carbide phase that is continuous at least 50 [mu] m are alternately present in the horizontal direction along the interface between the graphitic substrate and the carbide layer.
