The invention relates to an ardealite-based anorthite thermal insulation material and a preparation method thereof. According to the technical scheme, the preparation method of the ardealite-based anorthite heat insulation material comprises the following steps: taking ardealite, fly ash, plastic clay and aluminum oxide as raw materials, adding a raw material pore-forming agent, adding a raw material sucrose aqueous solution, uniformly mixing, forming, drying, and preserving heat for 3-10 hours at 1200-1300 DEG C to obtain the ardealite-based anorthite heat insulation material. The ardealite-based anorthite heat insulation material is prepared. The preparation method of the pore-forming agent comprises the following steps: adding the inorganic sol into the pore-forming agent, uniformly stirring, dipping for 12-24 hours under the condition of normal pressure or 103-104 Pa, drying, crushing, and preserving heat for 5-6 hours at 500-550 DEG C to obtain the pore-forming agent. The method is low in production cost and short in production period; the product is small in volume density, good in compression strength and low in heat conductivity coefficient.
