The invention relates to a preparation method of a light-transmitting mosaic tile, which comprises the following steps: preparing a green body raw material, preparing green body powder, preparing a green body and firing at high temperature, and is characterized in that the green body raw material comprises the following components in parts by weight: 25-35 parts of low-temperature glass powder; 15 to 25 parts of white sand; 35 to 42 parts of high-whiteness quartz; 8 to 13 parts of ball clay; and 7-11 parts of washed soil. The low-temperature glass powder can reduce the firing temperature and improve the light transmittance of the light-transmitting green body; the high-whiteness quartz can improve the light transmittance performance and the mechanical strength of the light-transmitting green body; the ball clay can reduce the shrinkage rate of the green body, prevent the green body from deforming or cracking, and increase the light transmission of the fired product. The prepared product not only has the light transmission of the glass mosaic, but also has good mechanical property and thermal stability.
