The invention discloses a method for preparing porous ceramic by sintering household garbage incineration fly ash. The household garbage incineration fly ash is uniformly mixed with a proper amount of bentonite and auxiliary materials to serve as sintering raw materials, and the auxiliary materials comprise borax, silicon nitride and Fe2O3. A proper amount of sintering raw materials are put into the crucible, and the surfaces of the sintering raw materials are smooth; and putting the crucible into a muffle furnace, heating and roasting to obtain the porous ceramic. The method has the advantages of simplicity, excellent porous ceramic performance, low sintering temperature and the like.
