The invention discloses an automatic turnout pickaxe aligning control method which comprises the following steps: S1) identifying the position of a sleeper through sleeper distance information acquired by sleeper identification and mileage information output by a measuring wheel; s2) obtaining foreign matter information in a turnout starting point and a tamping area through image recognition; and S3) according to the position of the sleeper and in combination with the foreign matter information in the turnout starting point and the tamping area, outputting a tamping operation pickaxe lowering position and an automatic pickaxe aligning control signal of the tamping device so as to realize automatic pickaxe aligning operation of the turnout tamping wagon. According to the invention, the technical problem of automatic tamping operation of the turnout tamping wagon in a turnout area can be solved.
