The invention discloses a system for detecting the load of a water tank of a cleaning and sweeping vehicle and a control method of the cleaning and sweeping vehicle, the system comprises a driving controller for providing driving power for the cleaning and sweeping vehicle, the water level detection system further comprises at least two liquid level sensors, and the at least two liquid level sensors are respectively installed in a sewage tank and a clear water tank in the cleaning and sweeping vehicle; the audible and visual alarm is used for giving out an alarm prompt and sending an optical alarm signal through sound; the single-chip microcomputer controller is used for reading the liquid level values detected by the liquid level sensors arranged in the sewage tank and the clear water tank, controlling the power limit value of the cleaning and sweeping vehicle through communication with the driving controller, and simultaneously turning on and/or turning off the audible and visual alarm; and a storage battery. According to the system, the liquid level sensors are used for detecting the water level in the two water tanks of the vehicle, so that whether the sewage tank in the vehicle is completely discharged or not and whether the vehicle is overloaded or not can be detected in a size-ratio mode of the system.
