The invention relates to a novel expressway slope protection structure and a construction method thereof.The structure comprises a foundation, first base filling layers, at least one second base filling layer, a third base filling layer and a roadbed, the first base filling layers are embedded in the two sides of the foundation, and the surfaces of the first base filling layers protrude out of the surface of the foundation; the second base filling layer is provided with a first surface and a second surface which are oppositely arranged in the thickness direction, at least one part of the surface of the first surface is connected with the first base filling layer, and the other part of the surface is connected with the surface of the foundation; the third base filling layer is connected with the second surface of the second base filling layer, and at least one part of the surface of the second surface of the second base filling layer is connected with the third base filling layer; the roadbed is arranged between every two second base filling layers and between every two third base filling layers. The problems that the slope masonry protection effect of the filled expressway is poor and the protection stability is low can be solved.
