LATCH WITH HOLDING OPENING LEVER
A latch includes: a pawl movably mounted on the latch to move between an unlocked position and a locked position; a pawl movably mounted on the latch to move between an engaged position and a disengaged position, wherein the pawl prevents movement of the pawl from the locked position to the unlocked position when in the engaged position; a hold open lever configured to move between a first position and a second position, where in the first position the hold open lever does not block movement of the pawl; wherein in the second position, the hold open lever prevents the pawl from moving from the disengaged position to the engaged position; a gear rotatably mounted to the latch for movement between a first position and a second position, the gear having a cam portion configured to engage the pawl and move the pawl to the disengaged position when the gear is rotated from the first position to the second position; and a spring for biasing the hold open lever to the second position upon rotation of the gear to the second position, one end of the spring operably coupled to the pawl, and a second end of the spring operably coupled to the hold open lever.
