The invention discloses a connecting joint of an existing circular concrete column and an H-shaped steel beam and a construction method of the connecting joint. The connecting joint comprises a steel sleeve, a first outwards-extending steel plate, a second outwards-extending steel plate, an additional steel plate, anchor bolts and bolts. The steel sleeve is in the shape of a vertical circular sleeve, is used for sleeving an existing circular concrete column and comprises a plurality of steel sleeve plates which are welded together. The first outwards-extending steel plate and the second outwards-extending steel plate are horizontally arranged, welded to the side wall of the steel sleeve and used for clamping a flange plate of the H-shaped steel beam; the additional steel plate is vertically arranged, welded to the side wall of the steel sleeve and used for clamping a web of the H-shaped steel beam. The anchor bolts are used for reinforcing and connecting the steel sleeve and the existing circular concrete column, and the bolts are arranged at the joints of the H-shaped steel beam, the first outwards-extending steel plate, the second outwards-extending steel plate and the additional steel plate. The construction method is used for building construction of the connecting joint. The joint is used for the field of building reinforcement and transformation, reliable connection of the circular concrete column curved surface and the H-shaped steel beam is achieved, and it is guaranteed that the joint can effectively transmit bending moment and shearing force.
