The invention discloses a roof snow melting system and a snow melting method thereof.The roof snow melting system comprises a plurality of unit modules, each unit module comprises a heat conduction layer, an electric heating film and a heat insulation layer which are stacked together from bottom to top, and each heat conduction layer is attached to a roof metal plate; the monitoring assembly is installed on the side portion of the unit module, and the monitoring assembly comprises a pressure sensor used for collecting the pressure value of accumulated snow on the roof metal plate, a temperature sensor used for collecting the temperature value of the roof metal plate and a humidity sensor used for collecting the humidity value of the roof metal plate; the controller is in signal connection with the electric heating films of the unit modules and the monitoring assembly, and the controller obtains the pressure value, the temperature value and the humidity value and starts the electric heating films based on a pressure threshold value, a temperature threshold value and a humidity threshold value. The problems that accumulated snow freeze thawing and derivative disasters are prone to occurring on metal plate building roofs in winter or plateau areas are solved.
