The invention provides a groove supporting tool and a groove excavation supporting method.The groove supporting tool comprises a first steel plate, a second steel plate, a first H-shaped steel stand column, a second H-shaped steel stand column and a reinforcing steel plate, and the first steel plate and the second steel plate are the same in structure and are symmetrically arranged; two first H-shaped steel stand columns are arranged on the first steel plate at intervals, two second H-shaped steel stand columns are arranged on the second steel plate at intervals, and a plurality of reinforcing steel plates are arranged between the two first H-shaped steel stand columns and between the two second H-shaped steel stand columns at intervals; the groove supporting tool further comprises a distance adjusting assembly, the distance adjusting assembly comprises a first steel pipe, a second steel pipe and a limiting piece, the first steel pipe and the second steel pipe are coaxially arranged and used for being connected in a sleeved mode, and the limiting piece is detachably connected to the first steel pipe and the second steel pipe. Compared with the prior art, the groove supporting tool has the advantages that operators in the groove can be effectively protected, and potential safety hazards are avoided.
