A buffer hinge for a door of furniture or the like, comprising: a fixing member; a movable member; the hinging system is used for connecting the fixed part and the movable part of the hinge and comprises a plurality of connecting rods and a plurality of hinging shafts; an elastic device acting in the closing direction of the hinge; a linearly actuated reduction gear designed to slow down the last part of the closing stroke of the hinge; the fixing part comprises a base and a plate-shaped frame, the base is provided with a central part with an opening in the front, the central part is intended to be accommodated in a seat formed in the thickness of a side wall of the furniture, the fixing part further comprises an arm with a first rear section and a second proximal section, according to the invention, the first rear section is remote from said movable part and is disposed substantially flush with the plate-shaped frame, the second proximal section is inclined upwards, the movable part comprises a holder, the cartridge is intended to be received in a corresponding seat formed on the door, and the arms and the holder are connected to each other by means of a hinge system.
