The invention relates to the technical field of fireproof materials, in particular to an intumescent transparent fireproof material and a preparation method thereof. The fireproof material is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 50 to 60 parts of aluminum silicate, 2 to 5 parts of zirconium oxychloride, 10 to 13 parts of aluminum tripolyphosphate, 5 to 8 parts of magnesium hydroxide, 2 to 6 parts of water glass, 1 to 4 parts of glass fiber, 1 to 3 parts of boehmite powder, 0.3 to 1.2 parts of melamine, 0.1 to 0.8 part of N-(beta-aminoethyl)-gamma-aminopropyltriethoxysilane and 10 to 18 parts of a fireproof treatment agent. According to the invention, the prepared fireproof treatment agent is sprayed on the surface of a material, and after the material is heated in the presence of flame, a formed carbon coke layer expands, so that an isolation layer is formed between a base material and the flame, and heat transfer can be effectively blocked, thereby inhibiting the temperature rise of the base material and realizing a very good fireproof effect.
