The invention relates to a canal slope safe operation mechanism, which belongs to the technical field of water conservancy construction engineering, and comprises a groove arranged on a canal slope and covered with a cover plate structure, an inner drainage pipeline extending into the groove, and a non-return drainer arranged at the end part of the inner drainage pipeline, the cover plate structure is composed of a fixed cover plate and a plurality of movable cover plates. The adjacent cover plates can be stretched in a sliding manner; a floater mechanism used for controlling the movable cover plate to ascend and descend is arranged on the top of the movable cover plate. In the structure of the safe operation mechanism, the cover plate structure forming the non-return drainer is composed of the fixed cover plate and the plurality of movable cover plates which can be stretched in a sliding manner and are provided with the floater mechanisms for controlling the lifting of the movable cover plates, so that the situation that the movable cover plates cannot be lifted when different flowing water levels in a ditch slosh can be effectively prevented; the phenomenon that the non-return drainer is opened disorderly by sloshing water waves is avoided, and safe operation of the non-return drainer is effectively guaranteed.
