The invention relates to a tube piece type open caisson which comprises a plurality of standard section links and a blade foot section link, and the standard section links and the blade foot section link are sequentially and longitudinally spliced. A vertical joint and a horizontal joint are arranged between the prefabricated pipe pieces, the blade foot section pipe piece is further provided with a blade foot, the prefabricated pipe pieces are connected through components and structures such as water stop rubber, water stop rubber grooves, bolts, threaded holes, positioning columns and positioning holes, and the vertical joint and/or the horizontal joint are/is coated with waterproof paint. And the waterproof coating forms a permeation consolidation layer and a bonding layer on the prefabricated duct piece. The designed pipe piece type open caisson has the obvious advantages that the open caisson is good in waterproof effect, good in mechanical property and easy to construct. The invention further relates to a construction method of the pipe piece type open caisson, and belongs to the technical field of assembly type open caissons.
