The invention discloses a construction method for excavating a small-section tunnel in unfavorable geology. The construction method comprises the following steps: performing construction measurement; carrying out construction lofting; constructing intercepting and draining ditches; carrying out earth excavation construction; supporting the side slope; forepoling; advanced geological forecasting; excavating a tunnel body; and performing primary support and lining construction. According to the method, the whole process from early-stage investigation to later-stage supporting is helpful for coping with different geological conditions and construction challenges in different stages, and through systematic management and prediction, the construction risk can be reduced, and the success rate of engineering can be improved.
