The expansive soil improver comprises 20-30 parts of cement clinker, 25-50 parts of blast furnace slag, 20-40 parts of calcium oxide, 3-15 parts of a catalyst and 1 part of nano silicon powder. The catalyst is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 20-30 parts of modified talcum powder, 20-40 parts of a stabilizer, 0.2-0.3 part of a water-retaining agent, 0.6-1 part of a coupling agent and 40-50 parts of water. The expansive soil improver can improve the strength of the expansive soil and improve the water stability.
