The invention discloses a door handle capable of delaying closing and an operation method thereof, and the door handle comprises a base which is used for accommodating a handle body; the handle body comprises a closing position and an opening position, and one side of the handle body is further provided with a transmission pin moving along with the handle body; the damping assembly comprises a damping piece and a conduction piece arranged on the base, the transmission pin moves in the conduction piece and actuates the conduction piece to rotate along with the action of the handle body, and the damping piece applies acting force for blocking the conduction piece; a blocking edge located on one side of the return direction of the transmission pin is arranged on the conduction piece and at least provided with a preparation position corresponding to the closing position of the handle body and a return blocking stroke corresponding to the handle body from the opening position to the closing position along with rotation of the conduction piece. The blocking edge enters the return track of the transmission pin at the preparation position, and the blocking edge is actuated in the return blocking stroke to gradually return towards the preparation position.
