The invention relates to an actuating device (10) for a vehicle component that can be moved relative to a body of a vehicle, in particular for a vehicle door or a vehicle sunroof, comprising: a drive assembly (12) having a drive unit (14) and a drive element (16) driven by the drive unit (14); and an actuating element (28) displaceable relative to the drive assembly (12) along a displacement axis (V) by means of the drive unit (14), where the actuating element (28) is connected to a carriage assembly (26) in threaded engagement with the spindle (20), where the spindle (20) can be driven in rotation about a rotation axis (R) by means of the drive unit (14), the central axis (M) of the drive element (16) is oriented at an angle to a plane defined by the displacement axis (V) and the rotational axis (R) of the spindle (20).
