The invention discloses a building formwork supporting system and a construction method. The building formwork supporting system comprises a supporting vertical bar assembly, a supporting transverse bar assembly installed on one side of the supporting vertical bar assembly and formwork supporting limiting plates installed on the top and the bottom of the supporting vertical bar assembly. External corner connecting assemblies are arranged between the supporting transverse bar assemblies placed in an L-shaped structure, keel connecting assemblies are arranged at the joints of the supporting vertical bar assemblies and the supporting transverse bar assemblies in a penetrating mode, keel positioning pieces are fixed to the surfaces of the formwork supporting limiting plates, and limiting supporting frames are arranged on one sides of the keel positioning pieces. According to the building formwork supporting system and the construction method, through a series of components, screw-free connection work at the joints of the keels in the building formwork supporting process can be achieved, rapid construction work of the whole building formwork supporting system is improved, and the building formwork supporting system can be repeatedly disassembled, assembled and used subsequently; and different connecting assemblies are used in cooperation according to different component functions to build the components, and the working efficiency is improved.
