The invention discloses a method for jointly improving expansive soil roadbed filler by plant ash and fly ash, which comprises the following steps: 1, carrying out indoor test on the expansive soil roadbed filler to obtain basic physical parameters of expansive soil, and drying and sieving for later use; 2, plant ash and fly ash are selected as improvement materials, expansive soil improvement samples are prepared according to different mass ratios, and material covering treatment is carried out; and 3, testing the expansion rate and strength of the expansive soil sample before and after improvement to obtain the optimal ratio of the roadbed filler.
