The present invention relates to a composition comprising a mechanochemically carboxylated mineral filler and a binder, the binder being cement and/or bitumen, the filler being obtainable by mechanochemically carboxylating a silicate mineral. The invention also relates to a method for preparing the composition. The invention also relates to a method for producing concrete from these compositions and to concrete obtainable by said method for producing concrete. The invention also relates to the use of mechanochemically carboxylated mineral fillers, for example as fillers in bitumen or cement.
