The invention discloses a roof supporting unit and a sunshade building structure, relates to the technical field of buildings, and aims at solving the problem that the overall structural strength of an upper cover composed of steel columns and steel beams is poor. Comprising a supporting frame, a first reticulated shell, a second reticulated shell and a plurality of supporting rods. The supporting frame comprises a plurality of connecting beams which are sequentially connected end to end to form a supporting channel. The first reticulated shell is located in the supporting channel and connected with the multiple connecting beams. The second reticulated shell is located in the supporting channel and connected with the multiple connecting beams. The second reticulated shell is located below the first reticulated shell, the second reticulated shell is of a concave curved surface structure, and the concave side of the second reticulated shell faces the first reticulated shell. The multiple supporting rods are arranged between the first reticulated shell and the second reticulated shell at intervals, one end of any supporting rod is connected with the first reticulated shell, and the other end of any supporting rod is connected with the second reticulated shell. The sun-shading device is used for sun shading.
