The invention relates to a masonry structure wooden column reinforced by a newly-added steel frame and a construction method thereof. The masonry structure wooden column comprises a log column, a newly-added angle steel frame, angle steel cross braces, connecting steel plates, angle steel stiffening ribs and chemical anchor bolts. The newly-added angle steel frames are arranged on the two sides of the log column correspondingly and fixed to the log column through self-tapping screws correspondingly, and meanwhile the newly-added angle steel frames on the two sides of the log column are welded through connecting steel plates. The newly-added angle steel frame is connected with the original wall body through chemical anchor bolts; two ends of the connecting steel plate are respectively welded on the newly-added angle steel frame; the method has the most remarkable advantages that the newly-added steel frame is adopted to reinforce the masonry structure wooden columns, the overall anti-seismic capacity of an original structure can be improved, the new structure and the old structure jointly bear the earthquake effect, and therefore the toughness of a house is enhanced, and structural collapse is prevented.
