The invention discloses a bowstring type inerter negative stiffness damper for vibration control of a high-rise structure. The bowstring type inerter negative stiffness damper comprises a prestressed cable and a damping structure. One end of the prestressed cable is connected with the top of the high-rise structure, and the other end is connected with the ground; one end of the damping structure is connected with the prestressed cable, and the other end is connected with the high-rise structure; the damping structure comprises a shell, a driving end, a hydraulic cylinder, a piston rod and an energy consumption assembly. The hydraulic cylinder is fixed in the shell; one end of the driving end is connected with the prestressed cable, the other end of the driving end penetrates into the shell and extends into the hydraulic cylinder to be connected with the piston rod, and the other end of the piston rod penetrates out of the hydraulic cylinder to be connected with the energy dissipation assembly in the shell. The damper not only can be installed on a high-rise structure, but also can enhance the damping effect.
