The invention discloses a collision protection device based on bidirectional energy absorption. The collision protection device comprises an energy absorption plate, a first collision protection plate, a second collision protection plate, an upper rotating tooth cylinder, a lower rotating tooth cylinder and an end face gear. The upper and lower rotating tooth cylinders are sleeved on the surface of a protected strut and can rotate freely; the end face gear is mounted on the protected pillar, positioned between the upper and lower rotating tooth cylinders and meshed with the two; at least one group of first collision protection plates and second collision protection plates are respectively mounted on the cylinder walls of the upper and lower rotating tooth cylinders along the circumferential direction; the first collision protection plates and the second collision protection plates are arranged in a staggered mode in the circumferential direction of the cylinder wall. The energy absorption plate is arranged on the outer ring of the upper rotary tooth cylinder and the outer ring of the lower rotary tooth cylinder in a sleeving mode and provided with installation grooves for the collision protection plates to stretch out.
