Quick coupler auto-lock mechanism and method
A quick coupler (400) and a method of coupling and decoupling a quick coupler with a work tool (500) are disclosed. The quick coupler includes a frame (410), a cylinder (420), a primary blocking member (430), a secondary blocking member (440), a biasing member (450), and a controller. The coupling method includes initiating an automatic locking state (Figure 9B-9D), automatically locking the second tool pin (520) within the hook (412), entering the first tool pin (510) into the recess (411), and initiating a locking state (Figure 9E). The decoupling method includes initiating an auto-lock state, resting a work tool on a surface, initiating an unlock state (Figure 9A), and separating the quick coupler and the work tool. Advantageously, the quick coupler can automatically lock the second tool pin without actuating the cylinder.
