Torque protection mechanism for brushless motor
A mechanism is capable of establishing a torque level to achieve torque protection of a brushless motor based on measurements of the rotational speed of the brushless motor without the need to use measurements of the drawn current. Accordingly, a rotational speed corresponding to a nominal torque has been established in advance such that the rotational speed is reduced when an over-torque exists. This makes it possible to estimate whether an over-torque is present, and therefore torque protection of the brushless motor is achieved efficiently, simply and very economically. The mechanism consists of: a power supply (1); a rotation direction setter (2); a control unit (3) connected to the rotation direction setter (2); a brushless motor (5) having a connection for sending an interrupt command from the control unit (3) to the motor (5), the interrupt command being a signal sent when operation is stopped due to overtorque.
