The invention provides a construction method of a continuous steel plate girder bridge, which is used for constructing a bridge body with a bolt joint positioned between bridge spans, and comprises the following steps: S1, mounting a bridge girder erection machine at a specified position; s2, the first beam body and the second beam body are hoisted to the designated beam falling position at the same time through the bridge girder erection machine for beam falling, and after beam falling is completed, the first beam body and the second beam body are spliced and fixed; s3, controlling the bridge girder erection machine to pass through a hole; s4, hoisting a next beam body to a specified beam falling position by the bridge girder erection machine for beam falling, and splicing and fixing the next beam body with the adjacent erected beam body after beam falling is completed; and S5, the S3 and the S4 are repeated till construction is completed. In the full-bridge construction process, a temporary construction support does not need to be arranged for supporting and fixing the beam body, and the construction cost can be remarkably reduced.
